The Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Adamawa State Chapter, has officially inaugurated its newly elected state executives tasked with steering the affairs of the association.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the NUT House in Yola and was graced by various stakeholders from the labor and transport sectors.
Representing the National President of TOAN, Pastor Tekma Vassimu charged the new executive members to live up to the expectations of the association.
He urged them to work with unity and purpose, stressing that cooperation among members and leaders is a cornerstone for sustainable progress.
While congratulating the newly inaugurated executives, the National President assured them of the full backing of the national body, emphasizing that the leadership at the center remains committed to supporting all state chapters.
Also speaking at the event, the Adamawa State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Dauda Adamu Ali, reaffirmed the TUC’s commitment to continued collaboration with TOAN for the benefit and welfare of its members across the state.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated State President of TOAN, Comrade Bashir Muhammad Jimeta, expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful conduct of the congress and inauguration ceremony.
He extended special appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his consistent support to tricycle operators and owners in the state, pledging that the association stands firmly behind his administration.
Comrade Jimeta further called on the state government to extend more support to TOAN members, particularly through empowerment initiatives such as the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) and other similar programs.
In a goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary of the Adamawa State Pension Board, Mallam Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, congratulated the new executives and urged the leadership to prioritize capacity building and training programs that would enhance the performance and productivity of members.
Other goodwill messages were delivered by the District Head of Yola, represented by Turaki Yola, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad, Mohammed A Sajo from ASCHMA and the representative of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Yola Office, Hassan Ibrahim.
The event marked a significant milestone for TOAN in Adamawa State as it enters a new phase of leadership with promises of unity, development, and effective representation.
