In a strategic move to broaden his support base ahead of the upcoming governorship elections, the Senator representing Adamawa Central, Aminu Iya Abbas, today continued his high-level consultation tour with visits to the state’s apex religious bodies.
The Senator, an aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), visited the state secretariats of the Muslim Council of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to formally notify them of his intention to seek the governorship of Adamawa State.
Seeking Spiritual and Stakeholders Support
Senator Abbas, accompanied by a delegation of political associates and pressure groups, first arrived at the Muslim Council Secretariat.
He was received by the Chairman, Mallam Gambo Jika, and other executive members. During the session, the Senator emphasized that his ambition is rooted in a desire to provide inclusive leadership that mirrors the diverse fabric of the state.
Following this, the delegation proceeded to the CAN Secretariat, where they were warmly welcomed by the State Chairman, Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo.
During the visits, Senator Abbas highlighted
Inclusive Governance, A commitment to a government that respects and integrates the values of all religious and ethnic groups, saying that he belief religious leaders are critical stakeholders who serve as the moral compass for the people.
The Chairmen of both the Muslim Council and CAN, in their respective responses, commended the Senator for his respect for the institutions. They offered prayers for the peace of the state and advised all aspirants to conduct their campaigns with decorum and a focus on the welfare of the common citizen.

Political Pressure Groups and grassroots mobilizers, Critical Stakeholders within the APC to harmonize party interests.
With these visits, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has further solidified his position as a frontrunner in the race for the Dougirei Government House, stressing that his “governorship ambition is a call to service for all Adamawa people.”
