The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, Engineer Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, has pledged to provide inclusive and people-oriented leadership if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Ahmad made the commitment during an interview with an ABC Yola reporter, assuring constituents that his doors would remain open to everyone irrespective of political affiliation.
The APC candidate said his decision to contest the election was driven by his record of service, particularly his contributions while serving as Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
According to him, during his tenure at the agency, he facilitated electricity projects in several communities across Adamawa State, adding that he is confident of delivering more development to the constituency if given the mandate.
Engineer Ahmad also disclosed that he established three non-governmental organisations focused on addressing water scarcity and supporting out-of-school children across the state.
On youth unemployment, the APC candidate said he would focus on identifying and tackling its root causes in order to create opportunities and reduce unemployment at the grassroots.
Speaking on his campaign strategy, Ahmad said he would centre his campaign on the yearnings and aspirations of the people, with emphasis on providing practical solutions to the challenges confronting residents of the constituency.
He further pledged that, if elected, he would prioritise the sponsorship of bills aimed at promoting human capital development, supporting small and medium-scale enterprises, and improving constituents’ access to financial assistance and intervention programmes from the Federal Government.
Engineer Ahmad Salihijo urged the people of Yola North, Yola South and Girei to support his candidature and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He described the APC as a formidable political party capable of providing effective representation and driving development at both the constituency and national levels.
