The Chairman of the Adamawa State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Information, Hon, Musa Mahmud Kallamu has refuted circulating social media reports alleging that each member received ₦100 million Developmental Projects from the 2025 approved budget from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Hon. Kallamu made this known in an telephone interview with state Assembly correspondents’ Tuesday describing the report as baseless.
According to him, the claims are entirely false and misleading adding that, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri approved funds strictly for community development projects across the state’s 25 constituencies.
Hon. Kallamu who is among the ranking members of the 8th Assembly, said community development fund was not given to the members, instead it was released to state ministries and agencies that will excute the projects as sited by members.
The spokesman of the House further explained that the money is not in the personal accounts of the Legislators, but in the accounts of various ministries who after due process will award contract for the execution of constituency projects to various companies for further action.
He said, no Assembly member will have access to the funds on personal basis, but have only forwarded lists of projects of their choice and its location for execution by the relevant ministries, insisting that the only role every member will play is to supervise so as to ensure that quality job is carried out.
“Individuals claims of ₦100 million payouts to Assembly members are unfounded and inaccurate as project are intended for broader community development initiatives across Adamawa State, not individual allocations to constituencies or lawmakers,” He said.
