Adamawa Assembly Passes Bill to Amend Jimeta Ultra Modern Market Law

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill to amend the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market Law Number nine of twenty eighteen, converting the position of Board Chairman into a full-time Executive Chairman.

The bill was passed during the House’s Wednesday plenary following the presentation of a report by the House Committee on Commerce and Industry.

Presenting the report, Vice Chairman of the Committee and Member representing Mubi North Constituency, Paul Samuel, moved for its consideration before the plenary.

After deliberations on the committee’s findings and observations, the Majority Leader and Member representing Demsa Constituency, Kate Raymond Mamuno, moved for the third reading of the bill.

Following the third reading, the Speaker, Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the session, put the bill to a voice vote and was unanimously approved by the members.

Consequently, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
