Adamawa Govt Warns Miscreants Vandalising Water Facilities

Adamawa State Government has warned miscreants vandalising and stealing of items from water facilities in the state to desist henceforth.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Ayuba Audu Tanko gave the warning while inspecting Water Projects executed by the State government in collaboration with non governmental organizations in Michika, Madagali, Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha Local Government areas.

Mr Tanko warned that the government will not take it lightly with those who vandalise and steal properties meant for citizens adding that it will deal decisively with any one caught in the act.

Ayuba Audu while in Madagali and Michika expressed satisfaction with the execution of water projects and lauded the contractor for Quality work done.

The Commissioner has performed the handing over ceremony of rehabilitated and upgraded small towns water supply scheme in Michika local government area executed by the North East Multi Sectoral Crises Recovery Project.

He implored the communties in Michika and Madagali to take ownership of the water facilities for sustenance and urged WCA to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities for the benefit of people.

Mr Ayuba who reiterated commitment of the present administration towards providing clean water to populace said the he was directed by Govenor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to inspect water facilities across the state for rehabilitation and upgrade for optimum performance.

While in Mubi North and South as well as Maiha local government areas, the Commissioner along side his entourage inspected Mubi Water boards, megga water project in Wuro Bulude, Adamawa University Water facility, Gude and Gella water facilities as well as Earth Dam in Pakka and Mayo Nguli water facilities.

Speaking separately, the Chairman of Mubi South local government council Hamidu Jingi Dirbishi and chairman water committee of Adamawa state University Mubi, Professor Simon Kasidi appreciated the government for its magnificent impact on water projects in the area, saying people of Mubi has a reason to support Governor Fintiri.

They lauded Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Tanko for embarking on the inspection tour saying it will give him opportunity to have the information at hand on situation of water in the northern zone of the state.

The Commissioner was also at the Palace of Emir of Mubi Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu and the District Head of Gulak Alhaji Bello Ijadi on homages.
