Adamawa Majority Leader Seeks Solutions to Problems Affecting Girls

As the World Commemorates the International Day of the Girl Child, the Majority Leader of the 8th Adamawa Assembly and member representing Demsa constituency Hon. Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno FCNA, has joined the world in celebrating the 2023 IDGq

Hon. Mamuno who doubles as Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development in a message through her media office in Yola, stated that (IDG2023) with a theme “Invest in a Girls Right: Our Leadership Our Well-Being described the day as unique considering its importance to the girl child.

The lawmaker also explained that the International Day of the Girl Child is an opportunity for lawmakers especially the female members across the state houses of Assembly in the country and the National Assembly among other key stakeholders to highlight and scrutinise the challenges of the Girls and proffer lasting solution.

Kate Mamuno said as critical stakeholders all around the world are celebrating the role of girls in the societies as part of activities marking the day, it is important for all to come together at all levels of governance to ensure that girls have increased access to quality education and quality healthcare.

She added that, the 8th Assembly in Adamawa is taking measures to reduce the problems to that regard as already the house have sponsored Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law and the Child’s Right Protection Law and was assented to by His Excellency Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. This she said, will go a long way in assisting the girl child tremendously.

The only female Lawmaker of the Assembly, also reaffirmed her commitment towards improving the quality of life of the girls across the state.
