By Abubakar Muhammad Adamu

The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission in Yola, Mallam Salihu Abubakar has overseen a remarkably successful 2024 Hajj operation, underscoring the effective collaboration between his leadership, the support from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the dedicated staff of the commission.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s unwavering support played a pivotal role in the smooth execution of the Hajj operation.

His administration’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of Adamawa pilgrims was evident through timely allocation of resources, logistical support, and policy guidance as well as successful airlift of the Pilgrims from Adamawa to the Holy land.

Under his leadership, the commission received enhanced funding, enabling them to implement comprehensive preparatory measures and ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience.

Mallam Salihu Abubakar’s proactive leadership was instrumental in coordinating various facets of the Hajj operation.

His strategic planning and meticulous attention to detail ensured that Adamawa pilgrims were well-prepared for every stage of the journey, from pre-departure arrangements to post-Hajj debriefing sessions.

His experience and dedication to service instilled confidence among pilgrims and staff alike, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation throughout the entire process.

I was told by the Public Relations officer of the Commission, Mikail Danjuma Mubi that upon arrival in Medina and Mecca, Adamawa pilgrims benefitted immensely from the well-organized welfare services provided by NAHCON and the commission.

These services include accommodation, transportation, healthcare, and spiritual guidance, ensuring that pilgrims could focus entirely on their religious obligations without concern for logistical challenges.

Pilgrims were accommodated in comfortable and conveniently located facilities that catered to their needs during their stay in both holy cities.
Seamless transportation arrangements facilitated pilgrims’ movement between sacred sites, minimizing travel-related stress and allowing them to participate fully in Hajj rituals.

Dedicated buses and logistical support teams were deployed to ensure punctuality and safety throughout the journey.

Comprehensive healthcare services were readily available to address any medical needs that pilgrims might encounter. Qualified medical personnel accompanied the pilgrims, providing immediate assistance and ensuring access to essential medications and treatments as required.

Throughout their stay in Medina and Mecca, pilgrims benefited from the guidance of knowledgeable scholars and spiritual leaders appointed by the commission. These mentors offered support and advice, enhancing pilgrims’ understanding of Hajj rituals and fostering a deeper connection to their faith.

Mallam Salihu Abubakar’s exemplary leadership, coupled with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s steadfast support and the dedication of the commission’s staff, resulted in a highly successful 2024 Hajj operation for Adamawa pilgrims.

The seamless coordination of logistics, provision of comprehensive welfare services, and commitment to spiritual enrichment ensured that each pilgrim could undertake their pilgrimage with peace of mind and devotion.

This achievement not only reflects the commission’s operational efficiency but also underscores their unwavering commitment to serving the Muslim community of Adamawa State with excellence and compassion.
