The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas has on Monday extended his sympathy to victims of the fire outbreak in the Yola Town Main Market, where shops, warehouses and other valuables were burnt.

The Senator in a statement made available to newsmen in Yola through his Media Office, said he was deeply saddened by the destruction of valuable goods and property in the inferno describing it as an act of God.

Aminu Iya Abbas, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation shares in the pain of all hardworking businessmen and women who lost their shops and other belongings in the unfortunate fire incident.

He assures those who suffered losses from the fire incident that he will communicate the issue to the appropriate authorities for emergency intervention adding that the National Assembly will do all within its powers to support the efforts of the Adamawa State Government and other relevant Agencies to ameliorate the plight of those who suffered losses..

About 80% of shops and warehouses were reported destroyed by the fire at the market on Sunday night which the lawmaker described it as economically destabilizing, incalculable set- back for the victims who have lost what they laboured for.

The Lawmaker also expressed sympathy to Adamawa State Government, Traders Union Associations, market men and women and the entire people of the area over the fire disaster, and prayed to Allah to turn their losses into greater blessings
