The people of Fufore Emirate have strongly affirmed their unwavering support for the newly created emirate under the leadership of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu.
Speaking at a press conference in Fufore Local Government Area, the Chairman of the Fufore Development Forum, Alhaji Muhammad Jidjiwa, emphasized that the establishment of the emirate was a historic moment for the people of Fufore.
He stated that the people of Fufore were fully in support of their new emirate and saw its creation as a long-overdue recognition of their identity, heritage, and rightful place within the traditional leadership structure of Adamawa State.
Alhaji Jidjiwa highlighted the historical context of Fufore’s relationship with the Adamawa Emirate, stressing that it was not built on war or conquest, but rather on loyalty and shared governance.
He explained that their forefathers did not join the Adamawa Emirate out of subjugation, but out of respect and allegiance.
The kingmakers from Daware, Malabu, Gurin, and Ribadu in Fufore Local Government played vital roles in the traditional leadership of Adamawa, not as subjects, but as partners.
He noted that the creation of the Fufore Emirate should not be seen as a challenge to the Adamawa Emirate but rather as a recognition of Fufore’s historical contributions and leadership capacity.
The Fufore Development Forum Chairman firmly rejected any narrative that seeks to portray the emirate’s creation as an attempt to weaken any ethnic group or traditional institution.
He emphasized that the Fufore Emirate does not undermine the Adamawa Emirate but instead enriches the cultural and administrative diversity of the state.
The Chairman also clarified that the process leading to the creation of the emirate was open and transparent, following due process.
He assured those outside Fufore who have expressed concerns that Fufore remains dedicated to the peace and stability of Adamawa State.
He stated that the goal is not division but rather the growth and recognition of traditional institutions.
Alhaji Jidjiwa called on all stakeholders to accept the Fufore Emirate as a progressive step forward, urging unity among all ethnic and traditional groups.
