In a renewed effort to promote economic growth and self-reliance, the member representing Mayo-Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has disbursed about ₦15 million as empowerment support to about 1,000 beneficiaries across the five political wards of his constituency.

The empowerment programme which was tagged “Adamawa State Developmental Program,” approved by His Excellency to all the 25 constituencies of the state held on Tuesday at the lawmaker’s residence in Mayo-Belwa.

The initiative is supervised by respective lawmakers to ensure equitable implementation across constituencies.

Declaring the programme open, Kallamu who was represented by his wife Hajiya Sa’adatu noted that the initiative was part of his continuous commitment to improving the welfare and economic stability of his constituents.

“Even though I am not physically present, my heart is with my people,” Hon. Kallamu stated. “This empowerment is meant to support small businesses, strengthen households, and promote economic independence among our people.”

According to the lawmaker, beneficiaries received between ₦10,000 and ₦200,000 each to boost their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

He explained that the empowerment fund was part of the Adamawa State Government’s support programme facilitated through the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Hon. Kallamu commended Governor Fintiri for initiating the programme and PAWECA for its effective coordination.

He revealed that this was the first phase of his empowerment drive, adding that the second phase would soon follow focusing on the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers and the execution of water projects across Mayo-Belwa.
