Hammanjamdi emerges Chairman during PDP Local Government Congress in Mayo Belwa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State has successfully conducted its local government congress, electing new executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

At the congress, which was described as peaceful and transparent by party stakeholders, Hon. Abubakar Hammanjamdi emerged as the new PDP chairman for Mayo Belwa. Other officials were also elected to constitute the new executive team that will pilot the activities of the party at the grassroots level.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the exercise, the Executive Chairman of Mayo Belwa Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Nashong Gubi, commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government congress held in the area.

Hon. Gubi said the congress was successful and widely accepted by the people, noting that the manner in which it was conducted brought joy and confidence to party members.

He urged the new leadership to take up the big task of reorganizing and motivating the party at the grassroots level for greater success.

The Returning Officer of the election, Hon. Bulus Kantomon Naptali, also described the congress as free, fair, and peaceful.

He called on the newly elected leaders to embrace inclusiveness and unity, stressing that without unity, the party might struggle in future elections.

In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Hammanjamdi expressed gratitude to party faithfuls for the trust and confidence reposed in him, promising to strengthen the party and lead it to greater heights.

The exercise witnessed a large turnout of party stakeholders and members across Mayo Belwa, with observers noting that the congress further consolidated the PDP’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
