The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Aminu Iya Abbas, has graced the African Raw Materials Summit 2025.
Sen. Iya Abbas who represents Adamawa Central Senatorial District on Tuesday, joined cream of policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and other key players in the raw materials value chain and brainstormed on the raw materials endowed in Africa.
Distinguished Sen Iya Abbas is known for his effort in promoting energy equity and local innovation, ensuring all Nigerians have access to reliable power while advancing a just and green energy transition.
The Chairman Senate Committee and other critical stakeholders from across the African continent shared insights and strategies on how to unlock Africa’s raw materials for industrial growth and global competitiveness.
Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas represented the Special Guest of Honour ,President of Sen. Goodswill Akpabio, assured a 30% value addition to raw materials before export, which means local processing must increase to boost economic gains, as outlined by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council. These strategic decisions will shape the future for all.
