A political stakeholder in Adamawa State, Nuhu L. Ribadu, has announced his withdrawal from the 2027 race for the Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency.
Ribadu made the announcement in a statement posted on his official Facebook account, saying the decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders at both state and local government levels.
According to him, the move was made out of respect for elders and commitment to the unity and progress of the party.
He explained that unity, understanding and cooperation were more important at this stage than personal political ambition.
Ribadu also announced the collapse of his political structure in support of Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, describing him as a brother from Yola South Local Government Area.
He said the decision to support Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad was aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections and ensuring political success for the constituency.
The politician appreciated his supporters, elders and media team for their loyalty and dedication throughout the period of consultations and campaigns, noting that the development marked a transition to a broader role in promoting the party’s victory.
Ribadu further expressed gratitude to the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the party leadership for their guidance and support.
He prayed for peace, unity and progress in Yola, Girei and Adamawa State at large.
