In continuation of its Local Government Area tour, the Sadiq Dasin–led Transition Implementation Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State on Monday visited Song, Girei and Yola North Local Government Areas.
The tour recorded a significant increase in enthusiasm and participation, as venues for the inauguration ceremonies in the three local government areas were filled to capacity with transition committee members and party supporters.
One of the major highlights of the tour was the decamping of the entire structure of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Song Local Government Area into the ADC, under the leadership of Abubakar Suleiman Nyako.
Addressing party members and supporters, Sadiq Dasin called on all ADC members and coalition partners to remain steadfast, intensify grassroots mobilization and strategically position the party to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he described as insensitive and anti-people.
Dasin expressed deep appreciation to supporters in Song, Girei and Yola North Local Government Areas for their massive turnout, urging transition committee members to prioritize awareness and grassroots mobilization. He further charged them to be fair, transparent and inclusive in all party activities.
Dasin emphasized that the overwhelming turnout during the tour clearly demonstrates the acceptance of the ADC and the readiness of grassroots stakeholders to embrace the party in its quest to effect meaningful change in the 2027 general elections.
According to Dasin, Local Government transition committees must double their commitment, promote fairness, inclusivity and cohesion, and work tirelessly to mobilize membership and build confidence at the grassroots. He also encouraged youths and women, assuring them that the ADC provides a safe and inclusive platform for their participation.
Earlier in his remarks, Honourable Yahaya Hamanjulde stressed the need for collective resolve in mobilizing grassroots membership of the ADC in order to unseat the ruling APC at all levels.
He expressed profound gratitude to key stakeholders whose support and guidance continue to strengthen the transition committee’s activities across Adamawa State. These include the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark; the North East Zonal Chairman, Engr. Babachir David Lawal; former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa) Senator Bindow Jibrilla, Senator Abdulazeez Nyako, Ambassador Omar Suleiman, Modibbo H. Tukur, Senator Ishaku Abbo, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, Dujjima Adamawa, Mr. Daniel Bwala, and other party leaders and stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of youths, women and elders from Song, Girei and Yola North Local Government Areas, various representatives reaffirmed their commitment to working tirelessly at the grassroots to mobilize membership and support for the ADC. However, they appealed to the state leadership of the transition committee to ensure strict adherence to party guidelines and fairness to all members of the coalition within the ADC.
Recent activities of the state transition committee, observers note, have further underscored the growing grassroots interest and the widespread acceptance currently enjoyed by the African Democratic Congress across Adamawa State.
