The APC House of Representatives candidate for Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, has expressed gratitude to party members and stakeholders following his emergence as the party’s flag bearer.
In a press conference in Yola, Ahmad Salihijo thanked Almighty Allah and appreciated the confidence reposed in him by delegates, party leaders, and APC faithful across the constituency.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as leadership that continues to strengthen the APC as a platform for governance, reforms and democratic stability.
The APC candidate also appreciated Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for ensuring what he called a level playing field during the process.
He further acknowledged the role of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as a leader whose discipline, courage and commitment to national development continue to inspire many.
Ahmad Salihijo equally thanked APC National Vice Chairman North East, Barrister Idris Shaibu, Adamawa APC Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali, local government party chairmen, party executives, elders, women and youth groups for their support.
Calling for unity among party members, the APC candidate extended appreciation to fellow aspirants, saying while primaries produce candidates, unity produces victory.
He stressed the need for reconciliation and collective action ahead of the general elections, noting that the campaign would focus on competence, credibility, service delivery and measurable impact.
According to him, the people of Yola North, Yola South and Girei deserve representation capable of attracting development, influencing policy and connecting communities to opportunities.
Highlighting his background in public service, Ahmad Salihijo said his experience in rural electrification, infrastructure, development finance and institutional leadership has equipped him to address challenges facing the constituency, including energy access, jobs, agriculture, education, healthcare and youth empowerment.
He promised to focus on skills development, digital opportunities, vocational training, SME growth, agriculture value chains and entrepreneurship support to improve livelihoods and strengthen economic growth.
The APC candidate added that his vision for the constituency would be inclusive, assuring that youths, women, farmers, traders, professionals, religious and traditional leaders, as well as persons with disabilities, would have a voice in governance.
He urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed as preparations begin for the general elections.
“Together, with unity, humility and purpose, we can build a constituency that is economically stronger with better representation,” he stated.
