The Chairman Mayo-belwa local government council, Hon. Muhammadu Usman Buji has flagged-off the vaccination of animals against Anthrax disease at Binkola village in the local government area.
In a release on his Facebook page, the Chief Press Secretary to the council boss Nurudeen Yusuf said Hon. Buji while officially flagging off the vaccination campaign, observed that Mayo-belwa was among the local governments with large number of animals in the state, hence the need to vaccinate the animals to protect them from contracting the Anthrax disease.
Hon. Buji noted that the wards to benefit from the programme are; Mayo-Farang, Ndikong, Ribadu, Gengle, Yoffo, Mbilla, Ganfada, Tola, Binyeri, Bajama Gorobi and Nassarawo-Jereng.
While urging Fulani cattle rearears to come out en mass with their animals for vaccination against Anthrax, the chairman council chairman assured that very soon other vaccination against animal disases would be carried out.
Hon Buji then enumerated some achievement of the present administration in the areas of education, health, agriculture, road construction and walfare among others.
The chairman who lauded Governor Fintiri for approving the request of the ministry to purchase drugs for vaccination against Anthrax in the state, said the gesture will go along way in improving health of the animals.
On his part, the sectional head livestock Mal. Al-hassan Musa gave an insight on the dangers of the disease in both animals and human beings.
The occasion featured symbolic vaccination against Anthrax by the executive chairman Mayo-belwa local government council as well as sectional head livestock.
