The Member representing Mayo-Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has commissioned five newly constructed boreholes out of the thirteen allocated to the constituency under his constituency projects.
The boreholes commissioned are located across Yoffo, Ndikong and Ribadu Wards, including Chukkol Joda, Wuro Gi’e and Kuseki in Yoffo Ward, Kotele in Ndikong Ward, and Labbare Wuro in Ribadu Ward all hard-to-reach communities that have suffered for years from lack of access to clean water.
Speaking during the commissioning exercise, Hon. Kallamu assured his constituents of his unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy, particularly to communities that are yet to benefit from government interventions.
According to him, communities that have not previously enjoyed government projects will not be left behind, while those that have benefited will continue to receive more interventions aimed at improving their livelihoods.
The lawmaker disclosed that the remaining facilities will soon be constructed across other wards of the constituency.
Hon. Kallamu explained that the boreholes were constructed through the Adamawa State Ministry of Water Resources as part of constituency projects approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for members of the State House of Assembly.
Describing water as life, the lawmaker urged benefiting communities to make effective use of the facilities and ensure regular maintenance to guarantee their sustainability.
He further noted that the borehole projects were part of resolutions reached during the maiden town hall meeting held in 2025, adding that more developmental projects are underway across Mayo-Belwa Constituency.
Hon. Kallamu also commended Governor Fintiri for what he described as the transformation of Adamawa State through numerous developmental projects, and called on the people of the state to continue supporting the governor’s administration.
Also speaking, the PDP Chairmanship Aspirant for Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Dr. Titus Obadiah, described Hon. Kallamu as a true politician with a passion for serving the people, congratulating him for fulfilling what he termed a huge promise.
While calling on the benefiting communities to continue to support the lawmaker and the PDP, Dr. Obadiah urged them to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.
A PDP stakeholder from Wuro Gi’e community, Mallam Buba, said the community has endorsed Hon. Kallamu for a fourth term due to his quality representation and people-centered leadership.
He noted that the communities had suffered for years from lack of potable drinking water until the intervention by the lawmaker, assuring him of their continuous support.
Speaking earlier, the PDP Vice Chairman of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Ismaila Enoch, said the party is proud of Hon. Kallamu’s giant strides and developmental efforts across the constituency.
Other benefiting communities who spoke during the event appreciated Hon. Kallamu for rescuing them from the challenges of water-borne diseases, stating that the gesture would never be forgotten.
They pledged to reciprocate the lawmaker’s efforts with their support in the 2027 general elections, describing the borehole projects as life-changing interventions.
