The Founder of the Hauwa Ndottijo Yerima Foundation and Vice Chairperson of Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, Hajiya Hauwa Ndottijo Yerima, says supporting children’s education and uplifting widows remains a core mission of her humanitarian work.
She stated this during a distribution exercise where the Foundation provided school uniforms to primary school pupils and Ankara wrapper fabrics to widows in Mayo Belwa.
Hajiya Hauwa appreciated the support of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Executive Chairman of Mayo Belwa LGA, Hon. Umar Nashon Gubi, and the Member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, describing their contributions as pivotal to improving the welfare of women and children.
She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to empowering children, widows, and vulnerable families across the community, and commended Chairman Gubi for his unwavering support, describing him as a leader worthy of emulation.
Represented by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Ashibiyam Bulus, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Umar Nashon Gubi, praised the Vice Chairperson for the intervention and assured that his administration remains committed to improving the lives of residents.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Entrepreneurship, Hon. Hammanjumba Gatugel, and former Chairman of Mayo Belwa, Hon. Muhammad Bako, described the outreach as unprecedented and lauded the Vice Chairperson for the impactful initiative.
Some beneficiaries expressed joy after receiving their uniforms and wrappers, saying the support makes them happier, prouder, and more confident as they return to school and face daily challenges.
