The Member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has flagged off the construction of a modern multi-purpose examination hall at Government Secondary School, Mayo Belwa.

Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, Hon. Kallamu said the project was initiated following a motion he presented on the floor of the Adamawa State House of Assembly last year after a devastating windstorm destroyed several structures within the school.

He explained that the House adopted the motion, leading to the approval of the project by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as part of broader educational interventions across Mayo Belwa Constituency.

According to the lawmaker, the facility will comprise a fully furnished examination hall and two office spaces to improve teaching, learning and examination activities in the school.

Hon. Kallamu, who is the Chairman, House Standing Committee on Information and Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Reconstruction (RRR), commended Governor Fintiri for approving the project and appealed to the contractor to ensure timely completion in line with the agreed four-month duration.

Speaking on behalf of the project consultant, Mr. Madayi Pwonido assured that the construction would be completed within four months while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Earlier, Chairman of the MMK Education interventions Committee, Dr. Muhammad Bello, highlighted the lawmaker’s educational interventions, including sponsoring over 400 students for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in two consecutive years, organizing extra-mural classes, sponsoring WAEC and NECO examinations, and awarding scholarships to numerous students from the constituency studying in higher institutions across the country.

In his remarks, the Principal of Government Secondary School, Mayo Belwa, Mallam Aliyu Aliyu Mayo, expressed appreciation to Hon. Kallamu for the landmark project, describing him as a responsive representative committed to improving education and addressing the needs of his constituents.

In separate goodwill messages, community leaders, education stakeholders and residents commended Hon. Kallamu for prioritising education and pledged their continued support for initiatives aimed at improving learning infrastructure in Mayo Belwa Constituency.
