My Concern Is To Provide Basic Amenities To My People – Sen Iya Abbas

As part of his effort towards providing basic amenities to his people, the Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has pledged to lobby for the conversion of Federal Government’s structure to skills acquisition centre for youth.

According to Senator Iya Abbas, the conversion of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) structure located along Yola- Fufore road to training centre will equip youth with needed skills to become self reliant.

Aside the training centre, the Sen. Iya Abbas, disclosed that the Senate is impressing on the FG to implement food stamp programme where citizens will be issued with identity cards so that they can collect food free of charge.

Sen. Iya Abbas, who made the pledge while speaking to newsmen in Yola, said that he is determined to follow necessary steps towards the conversion of the structure to training center for unemployed youth.

He explained that the centre will train both educated and uneducated youth in relevant skills and be given stipends to enable them set up their own small scale businesses to cater for themselves and their families.

“We are ready to do everything possible that will better the lives of our electorate. The welfare of my electorate is my primary concern, and I am ready to voice out their concern”, said Iya Abbas.

According to him, they are at the senate to defend, protect and take action on what will affect their electorate, promising not to relent in speaking out on what will affect them negatively.

He said that they were voted by the people at the grassroots, and that their welfare should be accorded topmost priority, adding that every motion he intends to sponsor should have direct bearing on the lives of his electorate.

He said that he had garnered needed experience when he was the member and Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, and that the experience has been helping him to relate well with his colleagues at senate and do best for his electorate.

He said that what Nigerians need at the moment is any programme that will ease economic hardship that they experience on daily basis.

Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas, stated that he is ready to do everything possible to ameliorate the suffering of the masses and urged the general public to pray for them and country in general for peace and stability.
