Senator Iya Abbas Presents Palliative Items to People With Disabilities, Others

In continuation of palliative
distribution to vulnerable groups across the seven local government areas of his constituency, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science,Technology and Innovations, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has donated foodstuff and non-food items to Persons Living With Disability (PLWD) in the state. 

Senator Aminu Iya Abbas who was represented by the Director General of his 2023 Campaign Organization, Alhaji Usman Mohammed Kaura at the PLWD Headquarters in Yola, said the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal in the country. 

He said the distribution covered about 20 locations already within the senatorial district while the remaining areas would be covered in due course.

He added that the gesture is to extend a hand of humanitarian services to members of his constituency with the donation of food items comprising of rice, cooking, pasta, clothings, among others. 

Senator Abbas, explained that the intervention is a means to support his constituents as well as compliment the efforts of the Federal and State governments in easing the challenges being faced at this trying time.

Speaking during the distribution at PLWD headquarters in Yola, One of the beneficiaries, Mr Batti Bitrus, expressed gratitude to the senator for rising to the needs of his constituents at this emergency period, appealing to him to continue to implement people-oriented interventions. 

He urged other political office holders and philosophies to emulate the senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District by reaching out to people like them in other to give them sense of belonging. 

Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, through a high powered committee led by his Campaign Director General Alhaji Usman Mohammed Kaura, distributed over 8,000 bags of rice, cooking oil, pasta and other non food items to seven local government areas under the Adamawa Central Senatorial District. 

Other beneficiaries of the gesture includes political pressure groups, stakeholders, vulnerable groups, youth and women groups, and supporters.
