In a concerted effort to bolster the protection of survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and fortify community-based strategies, gender and protection officers from women-led organizations in Adamawa have undergone intensive training.
The three-day workshop, organized by the Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola in collaboration with the Foundation for Refugee Economic Empowerment and supported by the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund, was a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing crucial skills and knowledge.
The workshop which held at Dan Tsoho Hotel Yola, focused on several key areas essential for effective community intervention.
Participants delved into project management techniques, conflict resolution strategies, trauma-informed care practices, and advocacy methodologies.
These sessions were meticulously designed to equip participants with practical skills tailored to address the multifaceted challenges faced by vulnerable groups, particularly survivors of gender-based violence.
Rakiya Tasiu Yusuf, a Gender-Based Violence Protection officer at the Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola who underscored the significance of the training said, the goal is to empower participants to protect survivors effectively and implement sustainable strategies within their communities.
Yusuf highlighted that the training aimed to empower women-led organizations with the necessary tools to make enduring impacts in their respective localities.

Many noted that the skills acquired will significantly enhance their ability to address instances of gender-based violence and support survivors effectively.
